By car:

By air:

The closest commercial airport is La Rochelle, about 30 miles away, served during the summer by Ryanair from Stansted, Jet2 from Leeds-Bradford and Edinburgh, Flybe from Manchester, Birmingham, Southampton and Glasgow and Easyjet from Bristol and Gatwick. Flybe has recently announced the good news that they will be operating a winter service from Sothampton, with connexions from other UK airports, including Leeds-Bradford and Manchester.

Although we have never used them, we have come across this airport transfer business at www.larochelleairporttravel.co.uk, an English family business run from the village of Les Mathes, very close to La Tremblade.

If you stay with us and intend to use the service, let us know and we will liaise with our neighbours to try and reduce your costs.

Bordeaux airport, about 110 miles away and among others is served by British Airways from Gatwick, Easyjet from Luton and Bmibaby from Manchester.  www.larochelleairporttravel.co.uk now also serve Bordeaux.

There is a small airport near Rochefort about 15 miles away and there are reports that it may become a destination for some budget flights.  We will update this website if this happens.

By train:

The nearest TGV stations are Surgères and La Rochelle on a direct line from Paris Montparnasse.  Surgères is slightly closer to us and is connected by bus to Marennes, via Rochefort.  La Rochelle is connected to Rochefort by train and bus.

The TGV station at Angoulème is served by trains from Paris Montparnasse, Charles de Gaulle Airport and Lille.  A connecting regional train links Angoulème with Royan from where there are buses to La Tremblade (Click here for timetable)
